Kalano was the proud host of the first ever Indigenous Careers Expo in the Myalli Brumby Community, Katherine on the 18th of June 2021. The event was a huge success, with over 200 people and 20 vendors in attendance.
Career options and Employment goals are a big focus of many of the Kalano Programs and ensuring that our clients and our community know who is out there, what they do and what kind of skills you would need to fulfil the requirements of the role is important to know.
Kalano saw many of their clients from Venndale CDP and the Youth and Family Services pop in and collect information from all vendors. Kalano hope that this sparks ambition with our clients and community.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the event, the many local organisations and businesses that showcased the many careers available for Indigenous people in the town of Katherine.

Special mention to the Kalano Housing, Municipal & Essential Services team for the preparation that went into the event, and for cooking for over 200 people on the day. Also thank you to Mayor Lis Clark for coming down and supporting the event.
