Kalano workers conducted “emergency works” on Gun Club Road this morning to fix dozens of potholes.

The bumpy road was brought to the attention of Katherine Town Council during Tuesday night’s public forum.

Katherine Mayor Fay Miller agreed the road was in a “very poor state”.

Council CEO Rob Jennings hinted that funding was on the way to upgrade the road, which is the only point of access into Kalano Community.

“It is actually one of the roads we are looking at right now to see if we can upgrade,” Mr Jennings said.

“There are some emergency works being done as well before that funding comes through, at least on those potholes.”
